Where a Ziptrak® blind suits
Ziptrak® is a proudly South Australian innovation, designed to extend and improve your outdoor entertaining season. The fabric is held into aluminium side channels to create a rain and wind resistant barrier, and the blinds offer shade, weather protection and a tidy look, with no buckles, no straps, no noisy flapping and no gaps.
Customers have particularly loved the benefits of a Ziptrak® when made using a clear or tinted PVC material. This encloses the area from the majority of wind, rain and insects, making it a year-round outdoor solution.
A dark charcoal or black mesh is a popular choice. The dark fabric hides dirt and marks and lets you look easily through to the view outside.

Your options
Every Ziptrak® blind is made to measure from genuine Ziptrak® components. These are the choices we talk through at the measure.
Operation
Choose hand or motorised operation. Both come with the brand’s latest reducer technology, which helps keep the fabric flat as the blind rolls up. The spring operation makes it quick to raise and lower the blind, and the centre release handle is one of the best options in the market for a straightforward release.
Design choices
An open or closed hood to hide the workings, and a variety of custom powder-coated colours to match and complement the home. An additional pelmet over the roller finishes the look.
Fabric
With Adelaide’s largest choice of outdoor fabrics: PVC coated woven polyester mesh at 1% or 5% openness, clear or tinted PVC, and acrylic fabrics. For clear PVC we use the highest quality, low shrink Japanese Clear PVC available.
How it works
A spline that is welded to each side of the fabric is wrapped around an aluminium top tube, which can then be covered by a pelmet.
At each side of the blind is an inner and outer channel that attaches to a post or wall, which the fabric slides down and is captured within. A powder coated bottom rail is attached to the fabric; release it with the centre release handle, or with the bottom latches at each side.
Ziptrak® or Zipscreen?
Both are track-guided outdoor blinds with the fabric held in side channels, in mesh or PVC, with custom powder-coated colours. The main differences are the headbox shape, the channelling system and the hold-down locks. See the range of options at our display centre in Campbelltown.

Questions about Ziptrak® blinds
What's the difference between Ziptrak® and Zipscreen?
Some of the main differences between Ziptrak® and Zipscreen include the headbox shape, channelling system and hold down locks. How much do Ziptrak® outdoor blinds cost?
Generally, Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds cost between $1,000 & $4,000. For larger areas, Ziptrak® HD can cost between $3,500 & $5,000.
What are the maximum dimensions for a Ziptrak® blind?
Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds can be made up to 5 metres wide with a drop of 3.2 metres. For larger areas, Ziptrak® HD is available which is a heavy duty system specifically designed for larger spaces. Ziptrak® HD can be manufactured up to 6 metres wide with a drop of 3.2 metres.
Can Ziptrak blinds be stopped at any height?
Yes. A spring-balanced Ziptrak® blind can be left at an intermediate height. Its manual locking mechanism engages when fully lowered; motorised operation differs. Ask us which arrangement suits your opening and exposure.
Can you see through Ziptrak® blinds?
With Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds, you have the choice of 1% openness mesh, 5% openness mesh or PVC. All mesh options allow you to see through the blind, however 1% openness mesh has a tighter weave, which will block out more view, sunlight, wind and rain. 5% openness mesh is the most popular option. PVC is completely see through but does require frequent cleaning.
What fabrics are available for Ziptrak blinds?
Ziptrak fabrics include clear PVC (for enclosing verandahs while maintaining the view), mesh (light filtering with insect protection), and blockout fabrics. A wide range of colours and opacity levels is available.
Can Ziptrak blinds be motorised?
Yes. Ziptrak blinds can be motorised using Somfy motors with wall switch, remote, or smartphone app control. Motorised Ziptrak is especially popular for large outdoor blind spans.
Can Ziptrak® blinds stop strong winds?
In windy conditions, it is recommended that Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds are fully retracted or left down and locked. Ziptrak® Blinds are most vulnerable when they are in a halfway position. During severe weather, Ziptrak® Blinds should be fully retracted as they can be damaged.
How are Ziptrak blinds cleaned?
Clean Ziptrak fabrics regularly with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Wipe the track channels periodically to keep the glide mechanism smooth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
What is covered
All parts repaired or replaced if they do not work correctly.
No cost for any onsite work or for transporting the product.
If a part of your product has a longer warranty than 5 years, we pass that on in full.
For the first two years a warranty claim costs you nothing. If it is broken, we fix it. Applies to the original owner and to orders placed from 1 July 2019. Damage or incorrect use is not covered. Read the Comfort Warranty.
